http://www.flickr.com/photos/kamoda/61229050/TOKYO -- The Environment Ministry plans to promote projects to confine factory-emitted carbon dioxide in layers of porous rock.

more than 1,000 meters below the ocean floor to help fight global warming as reported by the Global Petroleum Club.

Statoil (STO) of Norway has been injecting CO2 into gas fields of the Norwegian Sea since 1996.  As a matter of fact, the Norwegian partially privatized national oil company has been a leader and pioneer in CO2 reclamation, as they comply with the Kyoto Protocol and Norwegian carbon taxes.
