Sharp (Solar) - 2007/01/09 05:53 Sharp Corporation of Tokyo, Japan, a major global electronics concern, said it is the world's number-one manufacturer of solar cells and powers more than 100,000 residential and industrial installations around the world. Sharp recently introduced low-profile solar roof modules that lay flat on the rooftop for enhanced aesthetics and superb performance.

This past October a Sharp instalation at Google's headquarters in Mountain View, passed over GM, Johnson & Johnson, and FedEx to become the company with the largest solar installation in the US by mounting over 9,000 Sharp solar panels on the roofs.

At its solar assembly operations in Memphis, Tennessee Sharp assembles 162-, 167-, 170-, 175-, 185- and 208-watt solar panels for residential and commercial installations.

Tom
