Wondering how the planet's atmosphere is faring at shareholder meetings?

Ceres is an organization that is interested in "sustainable prosperity." My favorite of the Ceres activities is their shareholder resolution work and the roundup of corporate resolutions.  A quick report card on the various companies is quite clear.

I quickly ran across some oil companies that I own or follow.  I found that, even though my ownership choices of integrated oil and energy companies is mostly determined by their relative futures prospects current valuations compared to expected future valuations, these choices matched nicely with more cooperative companies.

ENN, the Environmental News Network, recently announced that Dell (DELL - $19.53), the world's largest mail-order computer vendor and maker of the infinitely adaptable Dell PC and laptop computers, was running its 2.1-million square foot Round Rock facility entirely on renewable energy.

Energy East (EAS) Could Be Acquired by Iberdrola

Iberdrola (IBE.MC), the wind energy giant from Spain, has been trying to buy Energy East (EAS) since June 2007. However, it has run up against hurdles as different public service commissions in the states that would be serviced by the new arrangement put the deal up for a vote. Now, though, the New York Public Service Commission has voted (4-0) to approve the acquisition -- provided Iberdrola meets some fairly stiff demands:

Google (GOOG) Gets Into Alternative Energy Investing

There are a lot of thoughts out there about alternative energy, especially now that oil prices are going up again. And one of the latest forays into alternative energy is being conducted by Google (GOOG).

Google, through its charitable arm Google.org, has offered almost $11 million for research on geothermal energy. And this large amount makes Google a larger investor in geothermal energy than even the U.S. government. The potential for geothermal energy is also rather huge, reports Scientific American:
