Both RAN and Coal Moratorium NOW! have been calling for a moratorium on the construction of new coal-fired power plants through education, grass roots organizing and non-violent direct action, such as the National Global Warming Teach-In on January 31, 2008.

I’m going to come out again in favor of nuclear energy, if only because we’re so far behind the curve in getting alternative energy up to speed to replace coal and oil that it’s going to take us decades to catch up.
