They are sexy, they are engaging, they are angry, they embarrass war mongers, they protect our troops, they care -- Oh! And they are HOT BABY.  Our friends at Code Pink - Women for Peace got a nice write up in the San Francisco Chronicle yesterday

And believe me, I never want to get them thinking that I'm not for peace.  I couldn't not handle the pressure.  Luckily, most of the Senators who voted for invading Iraq back in 2003 can't handle the pressure either.

GE Slimming Down and Buying Back Shares - I'm Holding onto My GE.

General Electric (GE - $39.50) reported earnings today.  The stock is now up to $39.50.  That's about 14% since I started buying GE back in March.  What am I doing now?  I'm still holding General Electric.  Would I add to my position at this price?  I don't own as much GE as I'd like, but I'll wait to add to my position a bit.  If I didn't have any GE in my portfolio at all?  YOU BET.  I'd have to add to my position.

When I started on Wall Street most things were still traded this way. I was trading Emerging Market Bonds over the phone and never used these signals except across a crowded loud room, and even then I mostly got them wrong. I usually had to resort to a phone call.

However, over time, some things became part of my body language vocabulary. I've confused girlfriends and friends who never used these signals by using them instead of talking sometimes.

Here's a link to a photo essay on some of these trading signals from the oil pit of the NYMEX.

How I Made Chevron An Ethical Investment

I own Chevron (CVX - $100.81) and have made a pretty penny holding the shares. Owning oil companies has helped make up for my losses in financial shares this year. The other nice part about holding Chevron shares is that I can do things like appoint Amazon Watch as my proxy this year to represent me at the meeting.
